Harper Shelves
The Harper Shelves were designed for a screenwriter and a production designer living in the Mount Washington neighborhood of Los Angeles, a short drive from our studio.
Their home is a remarkable mid-century modern house perched on a ridge, and through the living room's glass wall you can see the whole canyon opening up.
The living room for which the bookshelves were designed is large and airy, and the clients wanted to keep the space as open as possible. Additionally we wanted the shelves to respect the mid-century style of the space, without themselves being anachronistic or 'retro.'
