Downstairs at Blossom Silverlake

We first met Duc at a bonfire in Joshua Tree. He was getting close to opening a Silverlake outpost of Blossom, his popular downtown Los Angeles Vietnamese restaurant, and was on a spirit quest, of sorts.

He told us he was looking for a design for the cavernous wine cellar downstairs. We told him we were looking for a new project. Several drinks and a waning campfire later, we both agreed it was a perfect match.

We settled on a warm pallete of vertical grain douglas fir and a bold, judd inspired simplicity across the board.

The space is designed to transition through tiers of privacy. From the public bar on your left as you descend the stairs, to the communal table, to two semi private nooks and finally to a series of booths at the back for more private meetings.

You'll have to forgive us for breaking the black & white logic of our own website. It's just that we really want you to get a sense of the material, and of the warmth the place. Honestly, though, you'd be better of going and seeing for yourself. :)

The early press has been very excited about the new Blossom, and they've payed special attention to our bar downstairs. We'll keep this space updated with links as the reviews roll in: Urban Daddy
